It’s that time of year again! Along with the sunshine and beautiful flowers, spring seems to bring a renewed energy into our lives. There is nothing better than having a Spring Clean, and clearing out all of the old to make room for the new. We have made ourselves a checklist for our Spring Clean, and you are more than welcome to use it!
Kitchen
– De-clutter benchtops
– Dispose of expired foods & products
– Clean out fridge, wipe out shelves, and clean produce bins
– Wipe out pantry cupboards & shelves
– Tidy plastic & container cupboard/s
– Clean fronts of cupboards, drawers, and countertops
– Clean oven inside & out
– Clean stove top
– Clean range hood & filter
– Clean microwave
– Sweep & mop floor
Bathroom
– Dispose of expired products
– Clean out vanity cupboards & drawers
– Clean shower cubicle (replace curtain if required)
– Clean hand basin & mirror
– Clean toilet including around base, the rim of the pan, and under the seat
– Sweep & mop floor
Bedrooms
– Clean out old clothing & shoes (Be sure to donate, or re-use as rags for cleaning etc.)
– Wipe tops of wardrobes, drawers & cupboards
– Clean out everything from under the bed & vacuum
– Wash quilt, pillows, mattress protectors & flip mattress
– Vacuum floor
Living Area
– Remove clutter from book cases, coffee tables & cabinets, and dust/wipe with a damp cloth
– Dust/wipe with a damp cloth over all picture frames etc. on walls
– Move furniture & clean underneath
– Remove all cushions and vacuum/steam clean lounge suite
– Sweep & mop floor and steam clean carpet & rug
Laundry
– Dispose of expired products
– Clean shelves, cupboards & benches
– Wipe over outside of washing machine & dryer, clean lint filters and wipe seals on doors
– Pull out washer & dryer, clean floor underneath
– Sweep & mop floor
Garage
– Remove clutter, boxes & rubbish
– Remove any cobwebs from ceiling
– Sweep floor
– Remove any grease/oil marks
– Install shelves for storage if required
Miscellaneous
– Remove all light fittings & clean
– Clean ceiling fans & vents
– Using a paintbrush or toothbrush & vacuum, clean tracks of windows & sliding doors
– Clean inside & outside of windows & sills
– Take down & wash curtains (be sure to check care instructions)
– Vacuum blinds & wipe down with a damp cloth
Outside
– Remove cobwebs from eaves & guttering
– High pressure clean paths & driveway
– Clean out gutters
– Pull BBQ away from wall & clean any build-up of grease/fat on wall & ground
– Pull any larger weeds & poison smaller weeds
– Give plants a dose of fertilizer
– Mow & edge lawns, and give a dose of fertilizer
