Adelaide gets another opportunity to showcase its wares to the world in 2015 when Australia hosts the ICC Cricket World Cup. Adelaide Oval will host four games including a quarter final and while none of the initial qualifying games features Australia, the good news from a tourism and coverage perspective is that the first game is India vs Pakistan – which attracts phenomenal viewer attention from the sub-continent. Adelaide also hosts England vs Bangladesh and Pakistan vs Ireland.
The city will certainly receive economic benefit from international and interstate visitors coming to the games, in addition to the media attention on South Australia.
The ICC Cricket World Cup is held through mid-February and March – always a busy time for South Australians.
